As technology advances, so should our defender solutions against security threats. When in the workforce you can see this tactic in effect with various trainings being given to employees in an effort to prevent company cyberattacks. However, when it comes to everyday people living their lives, there isn't a security awareness training customized to the behaviors of this audience that excludes workforce compliance and takes into account the digitally unsafe habits being reinforced by people every day when engaging with their personal accounts.
In 2025, 429 million social media accounts were compromised, and billions of user credentials were leaked from major platforms, leaving individuals highly vulnerable to account takeovers, credential stuffing, and phishing scams. For that reason, Hack-Proof Habits was created as a way to educate people on the ways they can protect themselves online and secure their digital accounts.
A cyberattack doesn't feel real because it hasn't caused harm/hardship.
Dislikes trainings that repeat information they already know.
Will implement protection methods if quick and convenient.
Not likely to engage with additional information and activities post a training.
I solved this problem by creating an eLearning module that allowed the learner to:
Complete a diagnostic assessment that created a personalized learning path, allowing learners to focus only on the areas they needed to strengthen. It's worth noting that even if a topic was not indicated as required for a learner to explore, they could still access the additional content.
Evaluate and strengthen their passwords inside the module itself, removing the “I’ll do it later” barrier and driving immediate action. Watch the video snippet below to see the password checker tool in action.
Explore key features of a password manager to learn how it can strengthen their digital secuirty.
And much more!
